St. Joseph’s Mission Orphanage,
Vellamadam, Tamil Nadu, South India

Founder Father Joseph with orphans

Currently, St. Joseph Mission operates two orphanages housing over 150 abandoned children, both boys and girls, ranging in age from 5 to 18 years, regardless of their religious beliefs. The mission provides excellent care for these orphans including housing, food, clothing, education, school supplies and recreation.

In addition, the mission also operates an adjoining facility “Home for the Abandoned Elderly” serving between 20-30 residents who are too old and sickly to take care of themselves. The older orphans often help out in this old age home and benefit from this cross generational experience. Funds are needed for continued excellence in caring for these poor and destitute children.
